Dr. Assudani
Hello! I’m Dr. Assudani lovingly called Dr. A by my patients and staff. I have over 19 years of experience in the dental field. I graduated from the prestigious University of Colorado and have dedicated my career to practicing cutting-edge, health and prevention focused minimally invasive general dentistry. I founded The Smile Artists 5 years ago with a mission is to provide top-notch dental care with a focus on comfort and patient well-being. I like to approach dental care with foundation of kindness ethics and ever evolving skill. Being a member of American dental association, Californian dental association and Los Angeles dental society and Spear education has over the years given me the knowledge and tools to better myself so I can serve you with skillful and evidence based dentistry. I was born and raised in India, where I developed a deep appreciation for holistic health practices. This background has influenced my approach to dentistry, integrating elements of Ayurveda and a mindful, spiritual outlook into my work. I believe in treating the whole person, not just their teeth, and strive to offer a calming and positive experience for every patient. In my personal life, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, exploring the outdoors, and traveling to new places. These experiences enrich my life and keep me connected to the beauty of the world around us and which often gives me fresh perspectives and insights that I bring back to my practice. Dr. Patricia huh
Dr. Patricia Huh is a compassionate general dentist dedicated to providing comprehensive dental care with a gentle touch. She offers a wide range of services, including preventive care, fillings, crowns, bridges, veneers, extractions, Invisalign®, and implant services. Dr. Huh earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, along with a Master’s in Public Health. She further advanced her clinical training by completing a General Practice Residency at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center.
With a calm and comforting bedside manner, Dr. Huh is known for making patients feel at ease during their visits. She is committed to delivering personalized care and ensuring every patient receives the highest quality treatment and education to achieve long-term oral health. At The Smile Artists, her focus is on building trust, providing gentle care, and creating a positive dental experience for every individual.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Huh enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and exploring new destinations through travel.
Dr. Matthew Shanley
Dr. Shanley is known for his friendly bedside manner, thorough care, and the way he makes patients feel comfortable and heard. Whether it’s a routine check-up, restorative treatment, or cosmetic work, he’s all about helping you feel confident in your smile and your dental care.
Originally from Metro Detroit, Dr. Shanley discovered his passion for dentistry while volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul. He studied at Michigan State and Wayne State, gaining hands-on experience as a dental and oral surgery assistant along the way. After earning his degree from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health and practicing in Denver, he made his dream move to Southern California. Now based in L.A., he’s proud to serve the community with care you can trust and a smile you can feel good about.
Jackie Venegas
Hi, I’m Jackie! With more than 13 years of experience in the dental field, I’ve dedicated my career to making sure our patients have the best experience possible.I am proud to be a part of team here at The Smile Artist for more than five years.
As the Office Manager and Patient Insurance/Financial Coordinator, my primary role is to ensure that you fully understand your dental insurance benefits and responsibilities. I’m here to assist you in navigating the often complex world of dental insurance, from verifying your coverage to explaining your benefits in clear, easy-to-understand terms.
I work diligently to maximize your insurance benefits, handle claims processing, and provide detailed estimates for your treatment plans. Additionally, I offer guidance on payment options and financial arrangements so you can make informed decisions about your dental care without any financial stress.
In addition to my role in patient insurance and financial coordination, I manage the daily operations of our office, ensuring everything runs smoothly. I keep our staff on their A-game by fostering a supportive and efficient work environment. My goal is to maintain a calm and friendly atmosphere for both our team and patients, making every visit a pleasant one.
My aim is to make the administrative side of your dental visits as smooth and worry-free as possible, allowing you to focus on maintaining a healthy and beautiful smile. Outside of work, I stay busy with my wonderful husband and our two girls. I look forward to meeting you and helping you with your dental care needs!
Dr. David Channok Ahn
Periodontist and Implant specialist
Dr. Chanook David Ahn is a Board-Certified Periodontist who specializes in dental implant surgery and the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease. Dr. Ahn also specializes in esthetic and functional soft tissue surgeries. His keen judgment and technical skills ensure optimized performance in procedures for each patient.
With the respect of his peers and with his reputation for combining his well-proven techniques with the latest advances in dental technology, he is highly sought after as a lecturer and currently teaches dental students and residents at the University of California Los Angeles, WLA VA Hospital. He also holds study clubs at the World Academy of Dental Education and is the director for Advanced Dental Implant Research and Education Center.
Dr. Chanook David Ahn is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a BS in Biochemistry. He worked at the renowned David Watkin’s AIDS Vaccine Lab and during his time as a research specialist he was published in multiple manuscripts for the Journal of Virology.
After a year in AIDS research, Dr. Ahn attended Tufts University-School of Dental Medicine Boston and graduated in 2013. With his passion for excellence Dr. Ahn completed a 2-year General Practice Residency at Yale – New Haven Hospital as chief resident and was awarded resident of the year.
During his training at Yale, having acquired clinical skills and experiencing countless varieties of dental cases, his passion to encompass all aspects of dental health lead him to pursue a specialty in periodontal surgery at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System where he graduated as chief resident.
As a Periodontist Dr. Ahn’s main passion in dentistry is to SAVE teeth.
He believes that nothing is better than our own god given teeth. While he specializes in implant dentistry and surgery, which allows him to restore lost function and esthetics, his main priority is to save teeth using a combination of new technologies and conventional regeneration protocols.
